Who’s Behind the Mask?

0

Kim Nikles ’89 and her Thread Posse quilting group in Atlanta, Georgia, burn through their surplus of fabric, churning out N-95 mask fabric covers bound for healthcare workers at Emory University Hospital ER. Nikles is one of thousands of Davidson alumni to step up during the pandemic. “My cousin is an ER nurse, and she was using one N-95 for the whole week,” she says. “Putting a cover on it helps to extend its life. I’m also making the kind that people can wear for a quick run to the grocery store. Every little bit helps.” Read our “Alumni Voices” series at Davidson.edu/news or check out the “Unsung Heroes” Facebook series @DavidsonAlumni to learn more about how Davidson College alumni are leading in their fields and helping their communities.
