Prof. analyzes Al-Shabaab terror attacks.

Religious clipart symbolsWhen the Somali-based terror group Al-Shabaab attacked Garissa College in Kenya, the PBS NewsHour sought out Professor of Political Science Ken Menkhaus for a better understanding of the group and its goal in killing nearly 150 students and civilians.

Menkhaus, a scholar with a long history of studying affairs in Somalia and the Horn of Africa, told NewsHour co-anchor and managing editor Gwen Ifill that the terrorists are trying to drive a wedge between Kenya’s Muslim and Christian populations, and also regain the media spotlight that has been seized by The Islamic State, or ISIS.
