As the 447 students from the Class of 2013 readied themselves for commencement, Davidson’s 490 first-year students prepared for final exams—some set up to study on Chambers lawn, others lounged in the Adirondack chairs that decorate campus.
Spring might mark the departure of the majority of Davidson students, but the summer months have a rhythm all their own. An array of sports and enrichment youth camps bring hundreds of students of all ages to campus, Davidson Research Initiative projects are underway, and preparations for the arrival of the Class of 2017 continue.
The summer months also present an opportunity to see the grounds anew; visitors are welcome to stroll through the Davidson Arboretum (aka campus) and take in the college’s impressive collection of outdoor sculpture.
