Sibling Rivalries

The idea of the “Davidson family” is quite literal this year with multiple pairs of siblings suiting up for the Wildcats.

The Fisher sisters, Becca and Sarah, have both starred for their respective teams. Sarah, a senior captain goalkeeper for the field hockey team, has received multiple honors as a three-year starter, while Becca, a sophomore forward on the women’s soccer team, was the SoCon Freshman of the Year in 2011.

Another duo with a field hockey connection is the Funstens, Melissa and Lanny. Melissa was an immediate contributor for the field hockey team as a freshman this season, while her All-American older brother concluded a stellar career as a wide receiver on the football team. Lanny’s teammate and fellow senior, Brad Johnson, also welcomed his little sister to Davidson this year, as freshman Dani Johnson joined the women’s soccer team.

The football team also sports a pair of fraternal twins, sophomores Richard and Robert Klein, who both play on defense.

Finally, men’s swimming and diving and wrestling have a pair of identical twins each. In swimming, it’s the Gill brothers Drew and Spencer, sophomores who often post near-identical times. On the wrestling team, sophomores Anthony and Philip Elias succeeded the Radsky twins, Alex ’11 and Vitaly ’11, last season.
