Carl Hassel, Jr. ’50 sent photographic evidence, ca. 1946–47, of himself, Carl Harris ’51, Marvin Thompson ’55, and other Rumple dorm-mates atop the eight-ball-painted column by the president’s home. “Thanks for the memories,” indeed, Carl! this issue’s mystery photo is much more historically significant, taken in 1975 during a pivotal decade in Davidson’s history: the college was newly coeducational at the same time that it was moving into its second full decade of racial integration. do you know these people?
